Just got back from Memphis a couple of days ago. One of the places I really wanted to visit was "Sun Studios" - touted as "The Birthplace of Rock N Roll". Elvis cut his very first 45 at this studio. It is no longer an operating studio, but is now a fabulous piece of american history. Such a tiny little place to have turned out such huge talent - Elvis Presley - Jerry Lee Lewis - Johnny Cash - Carl Perkins - and the list goes on. . . . . .

Pizza Face!
I am trying to spend as much time as possible with Chad, Cristin and the kids before they move to Oregon in June, so Cristin the kids and I had lunch yesterday @ Red Robin. We have to go for the kid friendly places. It works out great since I work from home on Fridays, Cristin is able to swing by after picking Valen up from school and off we go! Calleigh is all personality right now and loves her food! She gets that from her dad - do not mess with her when she is hungry or has food in front of her! Yesterday it was all about the cheese pizza (after she ate an entire basket of fries all by herself!). The picture attached is the final result - I LOVE THIS PHOTO! LOL !!!!!!!

Really? September was the last post?

Wow - where has the last 6 months gone? First there was the crazy 50th birthday celebration(s) in October - then of course came the holidays - before you knew it, it was pilot season here at work again, oh, and don't forget the water main leak disaster at the house, UGH!!!! I want more time! Will I blink, be 65 and decide I am now too tired to do all the things I want to do? I SAY NO! Chad, Cristin and the kids are moving to Ashland, Oregon in June, my sister and her husband are moving out to Beaumont in August, Cory and Amber are getting married a year from June and I will NOT sit at home and wish my life away.
Let's see now - going to New York in two weeks with Becke, can't wait! This summer Denny is scouting in New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville . . . New Orleans and Memphis here I come! Taking Kisha with me, her first trip without the kids and hubby. I am looking forward to spending time with my "daughter" - God provides the things in life we need and we both "needed" this relationship, she may not physically be mine but I could not love her anymore than I do. Her and I at Graceland should be a riot! Can't wait to bring home cheesey Elvis souvenirs!
Calleigh turned 2 the beginning of the month and really is just too cute for words these days!
Attaching a couple of random photos from the last few months :)

Where does the time go!
Two months since my last post - unacceptable! So much has been going on which is why I am so behind! The grand kids spent a week with us the end of July and two weeks ago we were in New Orleans to celebrate my daughter in laws 30th Birthday, but more on those later.
It is officially fall and since it is my favorite season I am very happy. Of course here in So.Cal. we officially have different seasons from the rest of the country - we have moved into "fire" season. Anyway fall/fire season brings my favorite holiday Halloween. Already done with my crafting projects for this year so I thought I would share the Halloween Banners I created this year.

Flip Flop Fun!
So, you all know Denny and I were in Orangevale over the July 4th holiday to spend time with the kids. One of my special little moments was crafting with Kajah. Kisha and I were fortunate enough to have a girls only night out the day before we left as Den was only able to secure 3 additional tickets to the Sacramento Rivercats Baseball game with the big fireworks extravaganza following. What a shame Kisha and I were left behind (WooHoo!) We went to see a chick flick (The Proposal), a little shopping and dinner - the evening was wonderful! Our shopping consisted of a stop at the brand new Michael's in Folsom - just telling you scrapbookers if ever in the area you MUST go! Will blog that info separately with pictures!
Anyway, we went in to find some crafts for Kajah and in general just to check out the store. Michael's always has these great projects for kids - a summer savior for parents! We bought a plain pair of pink flip flops, self-adhesive jewels and foam flowers. The next day we sat down at the table and let Kajah go at it - with a little help from grandma of course, and had the best time! Kajah was completely tickled with her flip flops - Kisha and I thought they turned out so cute we might actually decorate a pair for ourselves!
